Job Description

The Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems and equipment. This includes routine inspections, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, and technical support for electrical infrastructure in industrial, commercial, or plant environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on electrical systems including transformers, switchgear, motors, UPS systems, and control panels.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults and equipment failures promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor electrical equipment performance and take proactive measures to avoid breakdowns.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, local regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with other departments to plan shutdowns and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and documentation.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure quality of outsourced maintenance services.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for major breakdowns and propose long-term solutions.
  • Stay updated with technological advancements and recommend improvements to electrical systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in electrical operation and maintenance (preferably in industrial or plant settings).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and safety standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • C- Licensed Electrical Engineer
